Skoda, the Czech automaker, is set to bring back the beloved D-segment Octavia in India, this time featuring a diesel engine. The launch is planned for September 2025, just in time for the festive season, with the new Skoda Octavia being imported as a CBU under the government’s GSR 870 rule.
Skoda Octavia Diesel
As per Petr Janeba, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, the diesel Octavia will be equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that delivers 150 bhp and 340 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The design will closely mirror the UK-spec model, boasting updated LED headlights and taillights, along with a refreshed interior.
Skoda Octavia RS Also on the Way
Alongside the diesel variant, Skoda will also launch the high-performance Octavia RS in India. The RS model features a blacked-out butterfly grille with RS badging, a redesigned front splitter, a rear diffuser, and a rear spoiler. It is equipped with 19-inch directional diamond-cut alloy wheels and red brake calipers, in addition to LED matrix headlights and LED rear lights.
Inside, the RS showcases an all-black interior theme, featuring black seats, door panels, and headliner, complemented by contrasting red stitching for a sporty flair. The Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 bhp and 370 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Standard features include variable-ratio progressive steering and a lowered suspension for improved handling.
Skoda Kodiaq RS Also Confirmed
Additionally, Skoda has confirmed the launch of the Kodiaq RS in India. This performance-oriented SUV will feature a blacked-out butterfly grille, sportier front and rear bumpers, and 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, along with LED matrix headlights and LED taillights, all in line with Skoda’s RS design philosophy.
