The Duster remains a popular choice in India, and many are eagerly anticipating its return, hoping it will enhance the already crowded C-SUV market. To outshine competitors, the Duster might come equipped with a robust hybrid setup. So, what can we expect from the new Renault Duster hybrid?
Design
The new Duster retains the legacy of its predecessors while adopting a more contemporary design. The front features rugged bumpers, a modern grille, and pearl-shaped LED headlamps, complemented by a sculpted bonnet. The side profile showcases blacked-out elements, enhancing its rugged appeal. At the rear, triangular-shaped LED tail lamps and a chrome bumper mirror the design at the front.
Interior and features
Inside, the rugged aesthetic continues. The design, while not overly fancy, is highly practical. The dashboard is upright, a common trait in lifestyle SUVs, and features a large floating infotainment system, Duster badging, and rectangular AC vents. Below these, HVAC controls and numerous phone charging options are available. The Indian model is expected to offer features like a sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a large touchscreen.
New Renault Duster hybrid – India launch
Renault has previously announced plans to introduce strong hybrids in India, aiming to localize the setup to reduce costs. The new Duster could be the first Renault hybrid in India, with a potential 1.2-litre plug-in hybrid setup, already available globally. Renault’s move could significantly impact the hybrid market in India, pending government tax reductions on hybrids. Non-hybrid options might include 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engines, with both manual and automatic transmission choices.
