Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLA facelift in India, featuring three variants with a starting price of Rs 50.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2024 GLA is available in AMG Line and Progressive Line trims, showcasing subtle exterior updates such as new LED headlights, LED tail lights, and body-colored aero elements. The AMG Line variant offers a distinctive front grille, a roof spoiler, an AMG rear apron with a diffuser, and dual exhaust tips, all riding on 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the GLA comes with dual screens featuring the latest MBUX infotainment system, providing wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, and illuminated star-pattern trim on the dashboard. The AMG Line variant enhances the sporty feel with a flat-bottom steering wheel, sports seats, and carbon-structure trim.
The GLA offers two engine options – a 1.3-liter petrol engine (GLA 200) producing 161 BHP and 270 Nm, and a 2.0-liter diesel engine (GLA 220d 4Matic) generating 188 BHP and 400 Nm. Both engines are paired with dual-clutch automatic transmissions, with claimed fuel efficiency figures of 17.4 km/l for the petrol and 18.9 km/l for the diesel.
Equipped with features such as a hands-free tailgate, Active Park Assist, 360-degree camera, 7-airbags, Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, Adaptive High Beam Assist, and Pedestrian Protection, the GLA 220d 4Matic variant includes the Off-road engineering package as standard.
