Visually, the diesel variant is indistinguishable from the turbo-petrol, maintaining the striking styling that blends MPV and SUV characteristics. The diesel variant, like its turbo-petrol counterpart, shares its engine with the Seltos, boasting a 1.5-litre unit producing 115PS and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic or manual transmission. Ideal for long-distance travel, the diesel Carens excels on the highway, providing ample torque, good poise, and a quiet ride. However, the diesel variant may feel less confident in slower traffic conditions due to its hesitant low-end performance, especially noticeable in Eco and Comfort modes.
