Audi Q9, the Trade name which was being registered at the beginning of the year. The Brand has been vigorously working on a new luxury SUV of which a clear rendered has been envisioned. With the registration of the Q9 Trademark it certainly gives an hint that Audi want to set it’s foot in the segment in which Mercedes GLS and BMW X7 are active.
BASED ON Q7’S PLATFORM
Like the other Audi’s, even the Q9 will retain the signature bulbous single-frame grille consisting of both horizontal and vertical chrome slats along with a very sharp and angular Headlamp cluster. Moreover, The Bumper flaunts a very prominent trio air intakes adding more to the design meticulosity. The Q9 will be based current (2020) generation of Audi Q7. Despite being developed on the same platform the Q9 is expected to be slightly longer in dimensions (10 mm longer) which will significantly help in offering a super practical interior due to the addition of two extra seats at the third row.
UNDER THE HOOD?
Audi Q9 is expected to come with 4.0L V8 Bi-Turbo Engine producing 600 Horsepower along with plug-in Hybrid powertrain options. Although, there are reportedly no plans to offer ‘S’ and ‘RS’ trims for the Q9 which is quite a bit acceptable considering the main aspect (luxury and comfort) which the SUV is aiming towards delivering.
