In today’s digital age, social media has emerged as a double-edged sword. While it keeps us informed and entertained, it also drives individuals to engage in reckless behavior for online fame. Recently, a video surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), shared by Bitman Raj, capturing a dangerous stunt in Kalyan near Mumbai, Maharashtra. The clip shows a 17-year-old driving a second-hand BMW X1 SUV with a 21-year-old sitting on the bonnet, all on a busy road.
Reports indicate that the BMW, owned by the father of the underage driver, was purchased after the teen was influenced by social media trends. The video continues to show the cameraman following the vehicle, which stops at a traffic signal, where the 21-year-old remains on the bonnet, laughing and enjoying the ride. This reckless act highlights the lengths people go to for social media attention.
Authorities have since filed a case against the car’s owner, a government official, for allowing his son to drive without a license. Beyond the main violations, the vehicle was missing a front number plate, had a rear number plate in Hindi, and featured illegal dark tinted windows. These additional infractions further emphasize the disregard for traffic laws.
